amongを含む表現: 

　☞amongは主として3者以上に用い、目的語は複数形の普通名詞か集合名詞。

    betweenは2者間に用い、目的語は複数形またはandで結ばれた単数形の名詞。

    ただし、3者以上でも2者ごとに分かれてそれぞれ相互の関係を示す場合はbetweenを用いる。

   amid, amidstは通常、多数の異質のものに囲まれた状態を示し、「の真ん中に」の意。

   目的語に単数普通名詞を用いることもある。
